Options’ Murder Mystery Event Raises Vital Funding for Vulnerable Long Islanders

Options for Community Living, Inc. (Options) recently held its first Murder Mystery Event- Midnight at The Masquerade, at Maroni Manor in Islip. Guests enjoyed dinner and refreshments while they mingled to gather information, trade clues, and solve the crime before the masked menace escaped. It was an evening of laughter, intrigue, and fundraising. The sold-out event hosted 140 guests and raised over $27,000 for Options’ programs which help vulnerable adults, children, and families living on Long Island. Photos from the event can be viewed here.

Yolanda Robano-Gross, CEO at Options for Community Living, Inc. introduced the evening with a powerful message. “Options serves some of Long Island’s most marginalized groups. Three prevalent populations we work with are those facing or at risk of homelessness, those who are diagnosed with mental health disorders, and those living with HIV/AIDS. It is hard to believe in 2023, stigmas associated with these populations still exist. Options is dedicated to ending stigma and restoring hope and dignity through our services.”

The night concluded with the announcement of raffle basket winners along with prizes for the Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Detectives, and Worst Detectives. Thanks to generous sponsors and a caring community, the event was a “phenomenal sold-out success,” stated Robano-Gross. “My phone was ringing non-stop the next day with our supporters calling to ask what next year’s theme will be.” Stay tuned for details on Options next murder mystery event – a trip back in time to the 1980s to solve a totally tubular murder.
